Gladwyne Black Rock Renovations
Our renovations started with a major kitchen renovation-addition. In this 1950’s kit home, the original galley kitchen was narrow, dark and isolated from the main living and dining spaces. We removed interior walls and added on a modest ell to create an open kitchen-eating-living space that allows this amateur gourmand to prepare gourmet meals with ample countertop area and professional grade appliances. The same space graciously accommodates large social gatherings and grandchildren hanging out. The custom designed and built kitchen cabinetry by Pappajohn Woodworking is finished like antique furniture and complements the owners’ furnishings. A mix of wood and stone countertop materials lends to the eclectic feel of the space. Large windows open out to the landscaped yard and, along with two carefully located skylights, invite daylight in to enliven the rooms. Our design vision extends to additional renovations of a Powder Room, Master Bathroom and closets, lower level Bathroom and built-in storage and display shelving in several rooms.
