Sheep Hole Farm Land Planning
A new owner of an 82 acre farmstead in Bucks County engaged us to provide master planning of the site in addition to architectural services for the addition and renovation of the farmhouse, wagon shed and barn. We analyzed the current land use of the site and mapped areas for future development, critical conservation areas and continued agricultural use. The existing structures sit on a narrow shelf midway between a hilltop field and a low lying creek and field. The upper and lower fields continue to be leased to a local farmer for haying. We established an apple orchard to the north of the farmhouse. The steep slope and watershed areas are conserved with minimal disturbance. We designed for a future driveway and farm pond while we completed the renovation of the barn and guesthouse, built a wagon shed as a 3-bay garage, and transformed the adjacent farm gardens and terraces to include an in-ground swimming pool and hot tub. Walking paths lace through the property to allow the intimate experience of the different habitats; field, forest and stream.
