For repeat clients, we were asked to create a summer gathering space for three adult siblings and their families, a family compound under one roof. We carefully met the zoning and flood zone requirements while designing a beautiful shore house that combines traditional design detailing and modern living spaces. We selected and composed durable exterior materials that will age gracefully and develop a beautiful patina over time. This custom beach house takes full advantage of views and bayfront water access and maximizes the outdoor living spaces with multiple seating and activity areas. The house accommodates nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms while maintaining the size and scale of its neighborhood. We designed an open concept first floor level; dramatic kitchen and dining spaces are flanked by generous family and living rooms. The indoor living spaces flow out to the outdoor living areas oriented toward the bay.
We coordinated the site and landscape design and construction, swimming pool design and construction, interior design, custom cabinetry design, and audio-visual and home automation consultant to ensure a cohesive end result. We oversaw the design and integration of the mechanical, plumbing and lighting systems with the structural framing of the house to allow a seamless integration of function, comfort and style.
Our clients have significantly increased their time spent in Stone Harbor as this shore home provides a comfortable and elegant destination for a single family and effortlessly transitions as a great entertaining venue for large groups.
